This past year at St. Benedict, we have been reminded that we do not live in a static reality. Our ever-changing parish and the world around it continues to stretch our flexibility and faith.
It would be lacking in truth if this annual report did not acknowledge the stresses that have pressed in on us during the past year: pandemic restrictions, vaccines, and daily news of drought, wildfires, homelessness, racial divides, rioting, and displacement. . . .
But it would also be short-sighted if we did not celebrate the joys of our parish! Service to the community continued through the Blue Bag Program, Saint Vincent de Paul Ministry, SMdP Sandwich Makers, Food Lifeline, Giving Tree, and Jubilee Women's Center Brunch. So much good work! Inside our parish, we saw confirmations, baptisms, marriages, and countless acts of support that sometimes go unspoken.
In all this, we are together. Within the Eucharist, we share a common hope for unpredictable days.
