Fr. Bryan Dolejsi is the youngest of three boys and was born and raised Catholic in the Seattle area. He attended public schools in Renton and Western Washington University for his undergraduate degree in Secondary Education/History/Language Arts. While in college he served at the Catholic campus ministry and as the youth minister at Assumption in Bellingham. Following college he was a Catholic High School teacher and international missionary for one year each. He entered the Dominican seminary in 2000. After ministry assignments at the Univ. of Oregon, Stanford and the Univ. of Washington he discerned to return to the Archdiocese of Seattle. As a Seattle seminarian he lived at St. Benedict the summer of 2004 while completing his hospital chaplaincy at Harborview. He was ordained a Deacon at St. Benedict November 2005. Ordained as a priest in June 2006 he served for two years as a parochial vicar in Tacoma (St. Ann, Sacred Heart, St. John of the Woods, and Visitation), three years as priest administrator at St. Joseph in Issaquah, and has served the past four years as Director of Vocations and chaplain at Kennedy Catholic High School. This past year he also took on additional responsibilities at St. Mary in Seattle and St. Anthony in Renton. He is looking forward to returning to St. Benedict to serve as you parish priest while continuing his role as Director of Vocations and chaplain at Kennedy. He is also looking forward to utilizing the St. Benedict rectory as a home for seminarians during summer and winter breaks and as a house of discernment throughout the year.
