The Archdiocese of Seattle - North Seattle Deanery Pastoral Plan
In the fall of 2014, Archbishop Sartain asked the North Seattle Deanery to brainstorm ideas about how we might operate with 3 less diocesan priests assigned to the deanery over the next 5-10 years. The demands throughout the Archdiocese and work load on current priests were driving forces to the conversation. Leadership from all parishes (18) of the deanery gathered in March, 2015 to discuss demographic information and generate proposals. There were about 130 people in attendance. After consultation with our Core Team and the priests of the Deanery all were encouraged to have their own parish based listening/input session on the information and projections as well. All the input gathered in those meetings was compiled and proposals were formulated in the fall of 2016 and discussed in several gatherings. A formal list of proposals was presented to the archbishop in Spring 2017.
In late Fall of 2017, the core team met with the archbishop to discuss the proposals, and in February, 2018, the priests and pastoral coordinators of the deanery will meet with Archbishop Sartain to continue this process.
Documents that were generated in the meetings are available from the links below. If you have questions or comments, please contact Marti Lundberg at the parish office or by email at m.lundberg@stbens.net.
